What is Discover Scuba Diving?

Want to feel what it’s like to breathe beneath the waves? If you’ve never tried diving before, Discover Scuba Diving with Key Dives is the perfect introduction to the underwater world. Check in at 8:30am for a brief overview of the basics of diving, then it’s off to the pool to learn a few skills. In the afternoon, you’ll join Key Dives on a two-tank dive trip to a beautiful Islamorada reef to explore the freedom of scuba diving and the beauty of the Florida Keys underwater world.

What to Expect

1. Scuba Diving Briefing

Your experience begins with a safety briefing at our Islamorada dive center. Our certified instructors will cover:

• Basic scuba skills and hand signals
• How to use scuba equipment
• Breathing techniques and underwater safety practices

2. Pool Training

In this session, you’ll enter a shallow water pool to practice fundamental skills that will help you get more comfortable and prepare for the actual dive. These skills are:

• Breathing underwater
• Recovering your regulator
• Clearing your mask

3. Two Open Water Dives

• Experience the thrill of diving at one of Islamorada’s pristine coral reefs, where you will complete two dives under the guidance of an instructor. You’ll explore the underwater world and witness the stunning marine life of the Florida Keys.

Pricing & Inclusions

Total Price: $225

Includes:

• All dive gear and equipment
• 1/2 day pool training session
• Two guided dives

Please inform us if you do not know how to swim, a $50 charge will be added to make the class private for you group for more intensive instruction.

Additional days of diving can be added for $160, no need to repeat the pool training.

Minimum Requirements:

• Age: 10 years or older
• Swimming Ability: Basic swimming skills are helpful but not mandatory
• Health: Complete a Medical Questionnaire before diving
