Course Breakdown

1. Knowledge Development

Each specialty course starts with a theory session to understand the principles and safety measures related to the specialty you choose. Depending on the specialty, this can be done online or in-person at our Islamorada dive center.

2. Confined Water Training (Specialty Dependent)

For some courses, you may practice skills in a confined water environment before progressing to open water. This step ensures you are comfortable and confident with the new skills you have learned.

3. Open Water Dives (Specialty Dependent)

Complete the course by applying your new skills during open water dives. The number of dives varies by specialty, but typically includes 2–4 dives, allowing for real-world practice and exploration.
